The Beatles

The Beatles is a pop-rock group from Liverpool who are “guilty” of leading the mid-1960s British Invasion into the US. Their clothes and styles made them trend-setters.

The group released more than 40 singles, albums and EPs that reached no 1. In 2004, Rolling Stones magazine ranked the Beatles no 1 on its list of 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.

The four Beatles were:

  • John Lennon (Oct 9, 1940 – Dec 8, 1980)
  • Paul McCartney (born Jun 18, 1942)
  • George Harrison (Feb 25, 1943 – Nov 29, 2001)
  • Ringo Starr (born Jul 7, 1940)

The museum

After paying the admission fee you will be given an audio guide, narrated by John Lennon’s sister, Julia. As you enter, the journey begins in the late 1950s in the surroundings of Woolton Village Fete where Paul McCartney met John Lennon. You can see some of the original instruments played by John and his band.

The next step takes you three years later in Germany, where John, Paul, George, Stuart and Pete play at Star Club.

Then you’ll be back in Liverpool, watching and listening to Cavern Club regulars talk about the most famous club in the world.

Next stop is Abbey Road Studios in London where the Beatles were almost rejected before heading to the USA where the real Beatlemania started.

Now it’s time to discover the history behind Sgt. Pepper album and then find out all about the Yellow Submarine.
